Some of the distinctions are real estate generated. Mt. Washington used to start on the streets ABOVE Marmion Way...now the sign is halfway down Marmion to Fig...so someone can sell a group of apartments as Mt. Wash instead of Highland Park? (It's been done all over the hill, Mt.Wash Drive isn't the only place). Since Cypress is the street that defines Cypress Park, anything south of it is Cypress Park...I have never heard of "lower Mt. Washington"...again, realtor speak, I think.
Just came across this site....it is super! thanks so much!

El Atacor IS in Cypress Park. How do I know? Because I'm from Cypress Park and besides freaking Footsies (which used to be a just gross bar before it was upgraded to a dive bar) and Yum Yum Donuts what else can we claim as our own? Cypress Park is not Highland Park, nowhere near as fancy, and anyone from Cypress Park will happily tell you that.

no doubt, that is clearly Cypress Park. I dont even think that it border Highland Park.... my understanding is that if you drive down Fig you cross the lowlands of Mt Washington first

That's clearly in Cypress Park. No one in their right mind would call that Highland Park. Highland Park doesn't begin until you're past Nightingale and the train tracks out there. Both neighborhoods are ghetto but both seem on the up and up. Yet, they don't like getting their 'hoods mixed up.

I had heard that the reason why Mexican Coke tastes different is that they use cane sugar rather than corn syrup as the sweetener. To me the difference is subtle, but I do like the Mexican Coke better. It seems to have a purer flavor without the abrasive finish of US Coke.
