Chinese Pistache
Finally, the NortheastLA Yahoo! group is good for something beyond name-calling and ill-informed political rhetoric. I received an email today promising that the Glassell Park Improvement Association will be passing out free greenery to beautify our neighborhood this Saturday. The choices are shade trees (Chinese Pistache, Jacaranda, Mimosa, and Holly Oak), fruit trees (Apple, Apricot, Nectarine, Peach, Plum, Lemon, Orange, and Tangerine), seed, and mulch. Trees will come in the 5 gallon size. Distribution starts at 11 AM at the Glassell Park Community and Senior Center on Verdugo. See you there.

As the incoming Vice President of the Glassell Park Improvement Association, I would like to thank everyone who volunteered their time today to make this event such a rousing success! All provided fruit trees were given away quite early today, and many of the shade trees donated by North East Trees were given away as well. It was definitely a great event today!
