The LAPD continues to keep the Avenues in its crosshairs by demoloshing their Drew Street “headquarters”. Let’s hope Antonio “The only camera I’ve ever seen that I didn’t like was at a mayoral debate” Villaraigosa keeps his promise to hire 1,000 new officers so the city can keep the pressure on our neighborhood social club.
Speaking of our favorite former District 14 Councilman, he’s refusing to debate any of the contenders for the upcoming mayoral election. I’m actually pretty happy with what’s gotten done under Villar(Raigosa), but he should at least have enough respect for the voters to defend his legacy. It’s exactly this type of hubris that endows elected officials with the sense of entitlement that leads to say…taxpayer purchased SUVs and banning taco trucks. Unless Villaraigosa mans up, I’ll be voting for someone else out of principal.
Finally, one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants, Antojitos Chilangos, now delivers. The dominant complaint about this place has been slow service, but now you can wait for your pambazo in the comfort of your own home. (323) 255-1042. Spanish may be necessary.

what? Villaraigosa keep a promise? You’ve got to be kidding. This man has said “Campaign promises are not meant to be kept” and “I promise I will not leave my Council District early to run for Mayor of Los Angeles.” I definitely will be voting for someone else, but out of NECESSITY.

they should have torn that shit down 15 years ago. not like they didn’t know what was going on there. and the only bright spot of Villaraigosa’s tenure as mayor has been hiring Bratton to finally clean up the city. of course Tony takes all the credit, though it’s Bratton who deserves the parade.
