Best Taco in LA?
Ξ February 14th, 2009 | → | ∇ Highland Park |
So NBC is awarding its Golden Local trophy for best taco in Los Angeles. The finalists: Tito’s Tacos in Culver City and Henry’s Tacos in North Hollywood. It looks like NBC simply asked their interns where they get their Tex-Mex. I wouldn’t feed these guys’ ground beef and grease in a hard-shell taco to the feral cats out back. Please, take a moment to log onto their website and spell out why they’re idiots. Hurry, voting closes tomorrow night.

For the record, Henry’s is in LA since N. Hollywood is still part of Los Angeles. Looks like crappy gringo tacos but you know, the audience decides the rewards. You all might want to pick up an LA map.
Your “eastside” taco crawl leaves much to be desired, but I know you all have good intentions. Eastside in quotes, be it Silver Lake or Echo Park, is still not the Eastside. It’s a common mistake, but not excusable. I hope you all keep that in mind.
Saludos!

Duly noted. Trust me, we don’t want to stir up the Eastside word police. I was hoping the quotation marks and references to Belgian beer would communicate sufficient irony. Next time I’ll use more quotes. Keep the huevos rancheros posts coming, we’re big fans.
